The developed scientific research in the CEQUA looks for to respond to the needs of knowledge of the region in aspects of relevance for its productive systems.

In the Region, several are the productive activities based on renewable natural resources for which the incorporation of value added by means of the scientific knowledge would help to improve the viable handling of the same. Comparative advantages by the wealth of terrestrial and renewable natural marine atmosphere resources and by the high quality of the tourist resources exist. Against it, the CEQUA will contribute in the application of the scientific knowledge to the search of solutions, by means of applied studies, development and application of technologies available and to develop by means of bottoms of technological innovation.

The task of the CEQUA aspires to have a direct influence on the regional strategic targets in the sense to operate on areas of great importance for economic, productive and cultural the development, for being studies and applications in prioritized territories such as Ice Fields, Antartica, Reserve of the "Cape Horn" Biosphere, and to contribute to the knowledge of patrimonial values keys for the fortification of the cultural identity of the Region of Magallanes.

During the past few years, "Foundation CEQUA" managed to position itself like an institution able to provide scientific information, opinion, as well as solutions and development of technologies.

In addition, "Foundation CEQUA" must like mission contribute to the scientific knowledge of the citizenship, to fortify the cultural identity of the Region, and to comprise of brings back to consciousness collective of the regional population.
