Investigation Line: Ecology Marine Ecosystems

Paola is Licensed in Science of the Sea and Marine Biologist of formation withdrawn of the Catholic University of the North, of Coquimbo. Paola, received their academic rank of Magister in Sciences of the Sea in the Independent National University of Mexico (UNAM) and in the same house of studies I realise its studies of Doctorate in Sciences with specialty of molecular genetics of aquatic organisms. During the years of postgraduate it oriented its investigation in different the different areas from the genetics: filogenics genetics of populations, relations and molecular evolution of the species of Macrobrchium prawns, one of diverse and widely distributed sorts of crustacean.

In the CEQUA its function is oriented to develop the line of investigation in genetics of pinnipedios specifically to explain in the origin of formation of the reproductive population of the marine elephant of the South Hemisphere leonina Mirounga and its filogenetic relation with the other subAntarctic populations of the species. Nevertheless the greater challenge of its participation in the Line of Ecology of Marine Ecosystems of CEQUA is the one to apply different molecular markers in marine species from commercial interest for the handling and regulation of traditional fishing grounds and based on would incorporate added value of commercialization.
