Juan Carlos Aravena

My investigation is oriented to the study of ecosystems of the south of Chile by means of the use of the dendrocronología to approach subjects such as the glacier variations during the Holoceno, Global Change and the dynamics of native forests. The geographic area of my interest is the austral zone of the country in which I have developed and I look for to develop to new dendroclimáticas reconstructions with species such as Nothofagus pumilio (lenga), N. betuloides (coigüe of Magallanes) and Pilgerodendron uviferum (cypress of the Guaytecas). Also it interests to me to extend the studies of the variations of glaciers of the region by means of the reconstruction of these variations being used ring of trees, lichens and sediments deposited in periglaciales atmospheres. Finally it interests the application of the ring of arboreal growth to the ecological and paleoecológicos process analysis of the forest ecosystems. Therefore I am pawned on expanding the number of chronologies of ring of trees of the austral region of as much space Chile as temporarily.
