Cristian Aldea Venegas

Research Line: Ecology of Marine Ecosystems

Cristian Aldea

Cristian Aldea Venegas is Marine Biologist graduated in the University of Concepción (Chile), where also he attended a Diplom in Analysis and Environmental Management, specifically in center EULA-Chile. Later on, he achieved his doctorate in Biology of the Organisms and Ecosystems in the University of Vigo (Spain).

His research area is the study of molluscs (mainly Gastropods and bivalves) by means of the systematics applied to the search of ecological processes and patterns of diversity and distribution. His doctoral thesis aimed the characterization of molluscs of the Bellingshausen Sea (Antarctica).
